Sustained Sales Jump of +52%
with Green Tick®

A recently published paper on trials of the world’s first-ever consumer goods (FMCG) to be certified sustainable, reports an average sustained +52% jump in sales for seven household cleaning products over 18 months monitored.

Market trials of seven product lines of household cleaners produced by Ecostore, and certified sustainable by Green Tick®, resulted in spectacular sales increases ranging from +21.5% for dishwash liquid to an amazing +233% for auto dishwash.

“This is the world’s first-ever report of the commercial results of sustainability certification in the FMCG sector”, said Mr Jeff Kemp, Chief Executive Officer of Green Tick Certification Limited. “We were very pleased to see market evidence that consumers will buy genuinely sustainable products, provided that they are clearly labelled with a trustworthy independent certification brand.”

Market trials of certified lamb produced similar results, with all the available certified lamb pre-sold to butchers six months prior to becoming available.

“This is a very important result for the Australasian meat industry,” said Mr Kemp, “as recent moves by UK retailers such as Marks and Spencer to source ‘carbon neutral’ products by 2012 (download article here), will put pressure on our meat producers to prove that they are operating sustainably. Green Tick® is the only “ready to go” independent certification label that is capable of meeting this need for farmers in the very short timeframe available.”

More ‘certified sustainable’ consumer products will soon be released on to the Australasian market, and it is understood that international interest in Green Tick® certification is building, with a second paper outlining the details of the certification system itself to be published in the UK within the next few months.
