Green Tick® is the world’s first independent certification brand dedicated to sustainability.

It is based on a life-cycle assessment (LCA) of the effects of an operation down its supply chain. The Green Tick® sustainability standards were created by independent scientists and engineers.

It is the only sustainability certification that can apply to any product or service anywhere, and once certification is obtained, its application is global. There is no need to re-apply for certification in every country.

Green Tick® complies with the latest international standards for sustainability, environmental auditing, and advertising. In particular, the latest advertising authority standards require that environmental or ‘green’ claims be backed by robust evidence, namely a LCA of a product’s effects upon the environment and people.

GreenTick® on a package immediately shows consumers that the product is environmentally sustainable, with Green Tick® certification backed up by independent testing.

Audit reports are available as a free download, and peer reviewed scientific and marketing papers on the Green Tick® system and its market performance have been published in an independent journal.

Green Tick Certification Limited is a New Zealand-owned and operated organisation dedicated to providing industries with independent sustainability certification.

Green Tick Certification Limited is a joint venture between Ashley and Susan Harris, environmental and planning consultants of Sustainability Specialists Limited, and Wayne Brown, a well-known New Zealand businessman, environmental engineer and commercial management specialist of Brown & Thomson Limited.

Our Head Office is based in Wellington, New Zealand.

Our certification standards are consistent with environmental laws that apply, and conform to the latest international standards for sustainability and environmental management (ISO 14000 and 17000 series). Our staff and global network of registered auditors are qualified in every industry, and we bring in acknowledged experts where specialist input is needed.
